Topic work this term involves learning about ourselves.  This includes the parts of our body, our senses and how we use them and how our features are similar to and different from other peoples.  This will include measuring limbs, creating graphs and charts and making comparisons and drawing conclusions from the data.

We are planning a visit to Eureka! in Halifax which will provide hands-on learning experiences for the children.  In particular we shall be visiting the Body Zone and hope to take part in a workshop.

Columbus!

Columbus our travel bear has so far been to Menorca and Scotland.  He has had a fantastic time so far travelling with you.

He can be booked through Mrs Jones.  You don’t even have to be going a long way away to have Columbus.  You could take him for a day out over the weekend if you have one planned.

watercolours, collage, pastels and pencils.   Colour mixing will be a skill they will develop.

We are currently collecting old magazines/catalogues  that can be used for collages.  Please make sure that all publications you send in are suitable for use in school.

Snow doesn’t stop play at Parish!

Despite the cold and snowy weather children in KS1 have

been using their team work skills by building snowmen.

Please continue to send your children to school in warm clothing as we do use our outside area in all weathers!
